Grinding noise from brakes

I had my dealer take a look at the problem and supposedly they relined rotors and swapped out pads. Worked for a while but have the same problem just not as severe anymore. The only thing is that now I have a grinding noise coming from the front of the car. I took it in and they said something about a dust cover being missaligned. They said they fixed it. It was raining at the time and I didn't notice the noise as I left. Parked the car in the garage, when I drove it the next day, grinding was still there. Any ideas? Do you think the dealership half assed it and didn't do anything-got in the car w/wet brakes and said " Oh no more grind, no more problem"?

how many miles? b/c most dealers will tru the rotors the first time and replace the second time. it's up to them though before 16k miles.

It could be the dust shield they are referring to.

It is easily bent when man-handling the rotors/calipers during a brake job.

It is also easily fixed - just pull it out away from the rotor and bingo! No more scrape.
