My 97SE when the heater or AC fan is running it sounds like it is vibrating a bit. When you bring the fan up to a higher RPM it gets worse. Cool thing is, the noise nearly goes away when accelerating. I think the inertia is moving whatever is contacting the fan blade out of the way. Anyone have this problem? The reason I ask, is should I buy a fan prior to starting work IF the fan shaft is worn because I cannot imagine getting to the fan is going to be fun. Also, has anyone replaced the fan or had to get to it and can comment on the difficulty and amount of time it will take to do this? Peace: e3

 

that noise is usually the compressor, dont worry about it. once your getting cold air and not condensed water your good. btw how many miles do you have?

 

i have the same problem... my max has about 82k miles
