Ordering a Secret Weapon Intake

Putting in an order for a Weapon R Secret Weapon intake and wanted some thoughts on it before I do. I previously owned an Injen CAI but was fed up with the bracket breaking off and eventually a huge hole when the bracket fell off. I tried to contact Injen because it was still covered under the limited warranty but they would never respond to my e-mails. This time I want to try a short ram instead of a cold air, which would seem more realistic since I live in Chicago and don't want to worry about getting water or snow in my intake. What do you guys think?

CAI my braket broke off too first day i got it...but the injen said your not suppose to tighten the braket all the way..you should let it **** loose so it can move with the engine..kinda supprising..but the day i broke the braket..i got oil change and was llooking at the intake and was kinda loose so I TIGHTENED IT...big mistake..so i put stocks back on..but for the maxi i think berk tech intake is so far the best looking and nice sound IMO..

I think the bracket on the Injen is a design flaw and leaving it loose will only delay the inevitable. I also think worrying about getting water or snow in your Injen CAI is silly. Don't be silly!
Injen needs to replace the welded on bracket with a band/clamp that wraps around the tube. I could show them how to fix it. In fact if someone wants to sell me their broken Injen, PM me. Be aware though, I am one cheap bastard.

I sent Injen 3 e-mails and still have no answers. Chernmax at www.cardomain/id/chernmax has a fix. He did mine and I have not had any more problems. Later Ramberg

That's it! A wrap around band or clamp... It seems so obvious that I can't believe Injen hasn't done it already.
