All i know is that the shop had unpluged the battery and i needed the car last night... somehow i think that the CU reset and adapted to the intake and exhaust... idk but feels much much faster. ill be going 40 and then flowring the gas and i will spin out. i dont know wat it is but i like it!!!! So i recomend everyone to RESET? their ECU after any mod

this has been discussed in recent threads. Many people say this is true, but some disagree. When my check engine light came on after installing the injen intake, the method of disconnecting the battery did absolutely nothing in resetting it.

I disconnected my battery for a couple hours and then hooked it up. It seemed to have woken up the engine. I felt quite a bit faster, especially from 4500 rpms and up. I trust my "seat of the pants".

Mabye you just missed driving the maxima. Sometimes after not driving my car for a while I feel like its alot faster ......I would like to reset the ECu but not by unplugging the battery becasue i dont want to loose my radio settings.

Was the car in the shop for anything prior to that? It's not uncommon for the deralers to upload revisions to the chip... they aren't always the best for performance, could have a bug, etc. Simple fact is however, you can't reset a "better" program than was originally installed in it.

Sorry.. misunderstood then... yes, it will adapt to the intake/exhaust change. I doinked.. thought I read that you hadn't modded it. Seems that most chips DO take a little time to "learn" the mods though.

On my Z28, we used to just pull the main fuse, did not remove the battery cable. If I remember, was a few second turns of the key. Car felt weird at first.....the CPU went into relearn mode. Felt strong for a few days. I still think that the Maxima is the same way and will adjust the tuning to the stock perameters. Only did it once on the LS1, felt strong for a day and then back to normal. My opinion, without custom tuning, this does nothing. Also, had a Superchip on a 93 Mark VIII....did nothing but make the car miss and run like a 4 cyl.

There are some nice tuners out there for engines.....but nothing out there so far that I can see for Nissan. Technosquare not sure of the spelling is playing with the tuning, but for the bang for the buck....seems like your car is out of play until you get the CPU back. Just my experience on the matter.
