I have a 1992 Nissan Maxima that i am having a slight problem with. The car itself feels like i have no power in the 1000-3000rpm band and once i hit 3000rpm then i am set to go. I raced one of my friends with a VG30E both cars are automatic and he was a lot quicker of the line coz his car doesnt slack back at the lower rpms. Can anyone Help me.

 

i have been having the same problem with my car
i have a 92 SE auto and it shutters around 1000-3000
i always thought i was the fuel tho

 

replace knock sensor and sub-harness

 

check the knock sensor before replacing.

 

yess! testing / cleaning before rippin...

Or just bypass it with .5MOhm R, start to use high octane fuel and getting better mileage and speed.
