I just looked at the website and there's a Transgo Shift and Re-Programming Kits and Transgo Performance Shift Kits for the home mechanic and do-it-yourselfer. Which one is the one that I'm suppose to get? Also, what things are involved in putting in one of these things? For people that installed it themselves, how difficult is it? How much would a transmission shop charge to install it? Also, where can I go about purchasing Don's VB? Is there a website to which I can look up? Thanks. Oh yeah, any instructions to how to install the Transgo kit? Thanks.

Hey Danny, I just ordered the Transgo kit today, and it should be here in two days. It was $46.00 plus shipping, depending on where you live, they are located in Oregon. Just tell them you want the shift kit for your year Max, it's tranny #RE4F04A if there is any confusion. How hard is it too put in, I don't know but I will find out soon enough. From what I've heard from other post, you just need to be really organized and take your time. You have to drop the tranny pan and the VB, so a bit of mechanical work is involved, but you don't have to drop the tranny. A new gasket should be used, but is not included, so you should pick one up at a Nissan Dealer or parts store, along with a lot of tranny fluid. Don Has a website, which should be coming online soon, or email him. You can find post of his in the Midwest/texas area and look up his email address through there. Good luck. Matt

Trans-Go makes alot of kits geared specifically for the do-it-yourselfer that come with videos and such. Unfortunately this kit is not one of them, it is written to the level of shop mechanics for shop mechanics, it can be done if you are pretty mechanical though. It addresses the shortcomings of the auto trans and makes several refinements. As a side benefit it does increase performance a little. I had one and then rode in a car with Don's VB mod. The differences are very drastic. Don's modded VB is a performance specific mod with even more aggressive shifts. It is alot more money, but it is also a better performer, and is not nearly as hard of an install.

Bigtexan7, Ive tried to get in touch with Don a few times about his VB Mod with no luck, which is why I decided to go with the transgo kit. I figure something is better than nothing right? Any info on how to reack Don? Don, you reading this, your VB Mod is in high demand! Matt

You can always email me. I've been a little tied up lately, so I might have missed it, but I do have 3 Valvebodies I can ship next week if needed.

Drew, I won't have room to do the swap this weekend here with my header stuff going on, but I will have one redy for you. Lemme know how you wanna do it.
