i know that to get yellow fogs, ill need to change the color of the foglight lense itself. but i was wondering if it is the lenses also on the IS300s' that makes the color yellow or just a yellow bulb. if its a yellow bulb, what kind of bulb is it? sorry if this has already been discussed. thanks.

I have PIAA Ion Crystal Yellows, they're yellow, but not Lexus yellow... Irish44J and some others have done the yellow capsule thing and that is much more like it... but like I said... do a search, the threads are out there...

thanks, i was just wondering if anyone knew anything about how the IS's have the color, if it is the bulb or the lense. again, sorry for the repost.

 

"LEXUS IS 300" projectors on my car.

Projectors have a yellow lense with a white H3 bulb.

 

some of the Lexus have projectors and some do not. Both use a yellow glass "sheath" over the bulb like this:

and when you do this conversion to the maxima fogs (keep in mind, this is using my STOCK bulbs) you get this:

If you dont want to open your fogs and use the yellow capsule then you could buy ion bulbs and lamin x yellow sheet over the foglights, like irish had before his new project.
I will admit that i think irish's foglights look better with the capsule but not everyone enjoy projects so that might not be for you.

imo arnold, I'd cancel the order and get the Narva/candlepower golds. The Ions are not as "yellow" and have an odd greenish tint to them at certain angles....I didn't like em at all (though Joel will disagree I'm sure)

No, I concede that there is that greenish tinge to them... but I'm not that picky about it... yellower than stock is all I want right now...

Btw, I'll still take those pictures so everyone can see the greenish tint that Josh here hates so much...

 

the other thing that is noteworthy is that they are not much yellower than the 00-01 halogens are, so it looks kinda wierd, like they just don't "match". Joel has the HIDs, so there is more contrast between the PIAA light yellow fogs and the pure white HIDs...

 

I wonder if those sheaths work on HID fogs.
