lately i've noticed that everytime i turn my wheels i here this ticking noise from the the drivers wheel. i cant see anything that hanging o..
have any ideas what it could be?

 

I have a good idea that it will be the driver's side cv axle. Check the boot area to make sure no grease is being flung, but I have a feeling that it is.

 

If the boot is cracked it'll make a clunk noise. A ticking noise is bearings.

 

Is the noise there as the car is moving ie. making the turn? Or just sitting in place turning the wheel with the car stationary? Is it a clunking or a light click?

bad cv joint will not necessarily make a clunking noise as Arnold said, sometimes you will just get the ticking.....depends on how bad its worn...

how much is it to replace this damn thing .. and is it a diy?

 

Usually you replace the entire axle. The do it yourselfness depends on how capable you are. It doesn't require any special tools other than a big a$$ socket to remove the axle nut. I've done them myself and I think you could too.
