Momo leather E Brake Boot Questions
Momo leather E Brake Boot Questions
Could someone who has installed a Momo E Brake handle and boot tell me which boot you used? Did the boot fit? Was it long or short? Was the base of the boot wide enough? I see they now sell a boot for the Nissan 240sx. Do you think that will fit best?
I would get a boot from www.redlinegoods.com . They can make it in pretty much any leather you want, and you can get a matching shift boot....
I got one from another org member in the for sale section. He got it from a gd here. Boot fits fine, and is of good quality. The only issue I have is that I've taken the console off and the slits on the bottom of the boot aligns fine with the pegs, but they are a bish to get on, and the leather might need a little stretching. I've had it on for a couple of months now, and it is starting to pop off the peg (the ones towards the heated seats button), and the only way for me to get it right is take the center console off again.
This time I'm going to push the slits over the pegs again, and hot glue the peg once it pierces through. I'm sure this will hold it very well since the slit was made to be smaller than the peg, and I suggest anyone that gets this does the same or something like it.

what I did with the brake is to put the boot on, and then used the OEM rubber-slit-boot thingy over it and over the pegs to secure it from underneath...worked great, hasn't come loose in about a year of hard use....
btw, the redline boots come in a nubmer of different leathers and you can get the stitching in any color thread you want (I have black leather with tan stitching, obviously.)

Yeah, I tried that during install. Got frustrated with it cause it didn't sit in there right. Maybe I wasn't patient enough who knows. So I said screw it, and left it off, and hoped that it would stay....guess not huh.
I'll give that a shot first when I go to fix it. Thanks for the reminder.
