Planned on installing my Y Pipe Today

And planning on doing it was as far as I got. When I put the car up on a lift to start taking the exhaust apart, I couldn't get the two bolts on the cat converter to budge. The one bolt is so corroded that it doesnt even fit in the 14mm socket. I am going to have to break down and take the car to a shop and get them to torch the bolts off. Since i have my cat back on the way, I am going to probably just wait the extra couple of days, and get everything installed in one shot.

What you do is you should spray the bolts with a generous amount of Liquid Wrench. Then the bolts will come off with much less effort. This is what I did to get them off when I was installing my y-pipe. Good luck!

PB blaster the night before if possible. Then again 20-30 min before doing the job. If that doesn't work, go for a short ride to warm everything up a bit, and it should come off easy.

I'll be installing mine whenever it decides to stop snowing.

I am probably going to just cut everything off, and replace the bolts. The corrosion is horrible, but since I will be replacing all of the equipment at once, I am just going to buy all of the new hardware and replace it all. I can't wait to eget out of the northeast!

shop time, not worth the frustration. i paid $15 bucks to get the bolts torched and did the rest myself.
