Warpspeed Y-Pipe Good deal???

I have heard a lot of mxed reviews on the Warpspeed Y-Pipe from no "bees" to "bees". From good customer service to bad customer service.

I called them up to check on the goup "deal". They told me $160.00 shipped for the regular lined flex Y-pipe. So I went to Ebay and saw that on E-bay you could get the regular Y-pipe (one we can get for $160) or the new "super-flo" for 199 plus 15 shipping - 214. 54 dollar difference..IMO good deal, but than I thought from a production standpoint. If I have a lot of one product with mixed reviews I will try and sell it (160), so when I contacted them to see if they would give the same good deal on the "superflo" I was told it was 199 plus s/h. I asked no deal, the woman said No.

IMO -> Never dealt with them before, but many years of retail experience, if I have a product that I need to move either because of improvements/problems than I will discount it to move it. Either it isn't selling or I think it won't move once the new product hits the masses (becomes mainstream). I understand $51 dollars off, but why one and not the other, when an Ebay user or standard buyer would get a choice. I am confused on the quality of a product when only one is being discounted and not the lot. Again just my opinion. I am not a max mod king, and have done very little to this point, but I know retail and sales. I am sure they are a good company and just trying to make a profit, but now Im cautious on the product. Just wanted to throw to the group on the differences.

i am looking at the superflo closely...it has no lined flex section so there will be absolutely no "bees in can" sound. Its supposedly is a significant upgrade from the 160$ version. I dont think anyone has used it just yet. I want the 15 extra HP from the y pipe.....but i dont want any bees....or emissions issues...ill watch this post closely...good luck

I'm on my third warpspeed ypipe.. I love them... I don't have any bees in a can sound, and for the price, the product is great! I love dealing with dallas.. I've bought 2 catbacks, one cat, and 3 ypipes from them, and i've had an excellent buying experience every time...
But their 160 shipped maxima.org price Y-pipe is fine... No rattling, not bees, no breaking... and the noticable difference of the Y-pipe is by far the best mod for the buck in my opinion..

I have the warpspeed Y-pipe and I have not had any sounds at all. As far as the superflo, I think its just a way to milk a couple of extra dollars out of us.

Once again kids,

Warpspeed superflo = abosolutely no "bees in a can", quiet when compared to all other y-pipes, and finally no worries of the flex ripping or whatever. Therefore, for these 3 reasons alone = BEST Y-PIPE, PERIOD!

geez armani maybe you should sell vaccum cleaners or something... how about emissions issues w/ no mods on a properly tuned max?

I appreciate all the comments, but still noone wonders why the superflo can not be offered at the same price as the regular. It appears that a number of members have supported the warpspeed y-pipe and with such one would think that a better deal on the superflo could be offered. Again my opinion and I am glad that most have had success with the pipe.
Armani - Im not doubting that it may be constructed well; however, why than would both be on Ebay at the same price?

I have the $160 WSP Y-PIPE for about 8 month now (got it at the last group deal offered here), Its a good pipe with no noticable noises, The only little problem I have with it is when i accelerate very hard in 1st gear and my wheels start to hop my pipe bangs against the crossmember. This is really not a big issue for me because i know its REALLY bad for the car to wheel hop so i try to avoid doing so.

Now for the retail aspect of things;
They have an old product and probably lots of it, new product comes out.... now they have to first get rid of the old product by discounting it and keeping the new product at regular price. Once old product sells out then you can put the new stuff on sale. thats simple retail 101

What do you mean why?

First off, the pipe is new. Second, Both are on e-bay for the same price because they are identical, except the superflo has no flex section. Third, do you really believe that one of these two y-pipes should cost $100 more than the other simply because it has no flex section? Please explain your reasoning.

I also got mine off a GD about 8 or 9 months ago...

So far, it's done remarkably well. Right after it was installed, there was a knocking against the crossmember under hard acceleration, but that went away. I've never had the "bees in a can" sound. I was pleased to find a good product for a great price.

Did you read my first message? I am not saying that 1 should be worth more than the other. I am saying that per the sale one is selling at $54 less. I don't claim to no mush at all about y-pipes other than it is a mod that gives a nice gain. Both are on ebay at the same price, correct? So why aren't both being offered at the same "org" deal price?
Borka As far as retail 101 - I know retail very well. I agree that they have an older product they are trying to sell, but from a consumer I question why you can provide what is considered a "deal" in one aspect but not another. I guess bottom line I see it as someone trying to drop an older product, but still call it the best and say they are giving a great price when in fact it benefits them to get rid of it.

New product, of course price has to be up in the sky even with slight change in the model. What still puzzle me, or made me wait in getting Y pipe are some of you really satisfied, others didn't. I have these questions in my mind:

For unsatisfied customer:

1. where did you get the Y pipe? was it from the warpspeed dealer or thru another store that carries them or ebay etc?

2. Problem with customer service or with the product after getting the Y pipe?

Same questions should be applied for the satisfied customer. This thing can eliminate hassle for us if we know the best place to buy.

It is simpe supply and demand, WS wants to get rid of old inventory by lowering the price to create more demands for it.

Think of Intel and Apple Computer, every time when they annononce a new faster cpu, they cut the older processors' price.

As for :
"I guess bottom line I see it as someone trying to drop an older product, but still call it the best and say they are giving a great price when in fact it benefits them to get rid of it.",
it happens every day all over the world, it is called a "sale".

Difference between "sale" and group "deal". A "deal" normally across all products...The whole point of the thread was to point attention that IF the company values both the same than why not apply the deal to both (Ebay pricing). Evidently they do not and they place more value in the newer model which as a consumer makes me wonder about the discounted version.
