normal smell of tranny fluid

what does normal tranny fluid smell like? mine smells like fruit, i have only 48k miles, time to do a flush?

mine smells like cheap prostitutes and cabbage, that's how it should smell.

not sure how it is SUPPOSED to smell, but i changed mine recently and the old oil smelled burned. Hope thats not a bad thing???

Redline synthetic just came out with a new mountain fresh scent.

Seriously...the best way to do it...go and buy yourself a case of ATF and smell the new stuff, you're going to need it to do a change at some point, anyway.

go and open a new bottle of tranny fluid and there the answer to your question. I change mine with every motor oil & filter change. just drain and fill.

It probably is, but it can only help you, not hurt you. It's cheap insurace...I drain, replace screen, and fill usually every 15k miles. Overkill or not, it keeps her running smooth with 204k on the clock and no end in sight...

Yeah I guess you can say that it's over kill but what does it really cost. 2 bucks a quart and I use 4 quarts. Aaahh for the 8 bucks I'll waste it. And with 153K it shifts perfectly.
