i gotta figure out whether i have LSD or not to R&R my axles. The model number is BLHULVFA32EUA-AFLA. The tranny #: RS5F50A-FG38. Does anyone know what they mean when they say "you can determine if you have LSD if the second number is A or V" ???????

is there a way to decode this properly? like the 'Reading your VIN' website

 

if it has an A after the numbers, it is open diff, and if it is V, it is a VLSD.

 

ok, so in my case BLHULVFA32EUA-AFLA ... it is an open diff? or are you talking about RS5F50A-FG38? in which case it is an open diff too.

is there a thread or an outside link that explains a lot about the VLSD and the open diff. i am just looking to learn more about them.

 

i was getting only my right axle replaced. when i called to check the stock they asked me for the A or V at the end of model number. but when i got there he said it doesnt matter for the right side. only the left axle is different on VLSD and open diff. how does that work??

 

FYI: right cv joint is the same on open diff or vlsd gen 4 cars.
