NE1 retrofit '04 HID projectors or projector foglights?
NE1 retrofit '04 HID projectors or projector foglights?
I have an '00 with the angel eyes projectors and want to see if anyone put the '04-'05 Max HID projectors in? I've read about all the other OEM with Audi A6, Lexus, BMW, but wanted to see if anyone tried the Maxima? Please post close ups if you have and how hard it was.
Also, anyone change their fog to projectors? I've seen them on ebay, with H3 bulbs, same size, wondering what the look appearance and functionality did. Please post pics of that if you've done that. I need projects!!!!

e55's shouldnt be too hard... check www.hidforum.com to make sure the size will fit
The 04 maxima projectors would be nice, and looks as though retroing them into the halo headlights would be pretty easy. Take a look at the writeups on my home page, It will give you an idea whats involved. I retrofitted a set of 2004 acura MDX projectors into the halo headlights, they are basicaly the halogen version of the lexus rx 330 HID projectors, they handle D2S HIDs w/ no problem. I found a way to mod them for more color & mount them better (but havent done a writeup on that yet ). Take a look at the thread " foglights + yellow capsuls + 5000K HID bulbs ...Pics" the last pic i put up is one of the modded MDX projectors cutoff.
You might want to consider this option, MDX projectors are the best value for HID projectors, they have no problem putting down a nice bright even/ beam pattern, plus A set of 04 headlights can be bought on ebay for only $60. and you get a gasket & bezel needed for the retro.
As far as projector fogs, I played around using the H3 projectors i removed from my headlights during the MDX retrofit. the H3 projectors beam pattern was crap, lots of hot spots, but no glare and good enough for fogs. w/ a little modification I was able to use D1S bulb in them (with a amber capsule, like in my sig) it worked pretty good and I got as far as making up the bezel and lens for the projector. but it required a lot more work to get them mounted (with the ability to adjuste them) so i just gave up on that and went the yellow capsul + HID route.
