P0171....How do I fix this? for a 2k

Had the SES light come on yesterday and I headed on to the local Autozone to have the check the code and the result was a P0171 bank 1. The guy at Autozone said it was an o2 sensor that went bad. Does anyone know how to fix and yes I searched and checked the stickies?

thanks in advance

Could it be a bad MAF?

I just had the exact same code as you. I did a search on the maxima.org and most posts pointed to a bad MAF. I got the updated MAF and had Nissan reprogram the ECM according to the TSB. By the way, I have a 2001, but the updated MAF is the same for the 2000. The car runs and accelerates a lot better, and the light hasn't come on again yet. Do you have any driveability problems?
