I just got mine changed the other day and I can definitly feel more power. It's too early to check the gas mileage though.

Def more power since i switched out my bad KS! The old one was cracked and the plastic was all melted. My mpg went from low teens to about 20 mpg big difference, and i didn't even go new , i went with a used one with 90,000 miles on it

Yes I definitely could feel a difference. basically for me, I have an auto, and when i would accelerate under 3000 rpm, the car would normally drag, and the rpms wouldn't increase when you tried to accelerate. Now there is much better response when you hit the gas.

Kinda

Sorta, kinda, maybe... replaced last week and I *might* have a bit more pull <3K rpm but it could just be my imagination. Only replaced it because the resistance was far too high (see http://forums.maxima.org/showthread....86#post2393786 for test and replacement).

Sweet thanks for the info bro, I was wondering myself if I needed to replace the KS anytime soon. The owner before me took good care of it though... atleast I think so..
Anyways thanks for the link, I'm going to check it out!

Depending on how long your old one was bad, so you should feel it.

Why would it matter how long it was bad...I thought it went into safe mode pulling back timing immediately?

I definitely felt it...more than the y-pipe IMO.

It did, but if you are used to the timing being retarded and just forget you need one, you wont notice it until you replace it, then the car seems like it's brand new. I went 2 years with a dead/dying KS, and the day I cahnged it, felt tremendously different just because I was used to getting owned by stock celica gt's and civic si's and it becamse no big thing, now things are different. You're right it does go into safe mode, but if you're used to it and don't notice it, when you change it, the results will be far more appreciated.

i felt it a LOT. with a bad knock sensor i couldnt even get my tires to do anything more than chirp.. even if i braked at a stop and revved to 1500+ rpms.. that sucked. Sooo much more pull down low in the rpms now

You will feel it... sort of. Its not a night and day difference like everyone says. I saw a whole lot of a bigger difference at the gas pump.
