Help, replaced EGR Valve, code still exists
Help, replaced EGR Valve, code still exists
Folks,
Replaced the EGR valve last week, after an EGR code indicated flow issues.
Code cleared, light went off. Stayed off for a few days, then came back on. Same code.
Checked the Solenoid Control Valve for the EGR, and it test to spec.
What am I missing?
Thanks,
Evan

Most of the hoses in the EGR system hold up pretty well over the years (unlike in the Sentras). I'd say that a flow issue is probably due to the EGR tube that bolts to the upper rear of the intake manifold. It's not the most fun to get out, but it's easy to clean with a pick and some carburator cleaner. If you've got access to a Consult tool, I'd test drive it after cleaning the tube and perform an active test on the EGR system. That way you don't have to wait 3 weeks for the system to test itself.
