I Need Help With My Mount Or The Transmission. Please Heeeeelp!

HEY EVERYBODY, CAN ANYONE TELL ME WHAT TO DO? I HAVE A 95 GXE AUTOMATIC, AND A 98 ENGINE. WELL, THE ENGINE STARTED ROCKING EVERY TIME I SHIFTED TO EITHER REVERSE OR DRIVE, AND IT MOVES LIKE CRAZY. THEY TOLD ME IT'S THE MOUNTS, WELL, I CHANGED 3 OUT OF 4. IM ONLY MISSING THE RIGHT TOP. BUT STILL, TO GET TO 30MPH IT HAS TO GO UP TO 4000 REVOLUTIONS, AND THEN JUMP OR SOMETHING THAT IT HITS MY HEAD AND IT FEELS LIKE IF IM GETTING THROWN OUT OF THE CAR BECAUSE ITS A BIG HIT, AND AFTER IS THAT IT CAN GO PAST 30. THEN, TO GET PAST 50, IT HAS TO DO THE SAME THING. REACH 4000 REVOLUTIONS AND DOES THE HIT, BUT LESS INTENSE. WELL, I WAS TOLD IT WAS THE MOUNT, BUT NOW IM ONLY MISSING ONE TO BE CHANGED, AND IT STILL DOES THAT UGLY HIT, SO I WAS TOLD AGAIN THAT IT MIGHT BE THE TRANSMISSION. BUT I THINK, I HAVE BEEN DRIVING LIKE THAT FOR ABOUT 4 MONTHS, IF IT WAS THE TRANSMISSION, IT WOULD'VE BEEN MESSED UP BY NOW, SO I REALLY DONT KNOW WHAT IT IS. I KEEP TAKING THE CAR TO DIFFERENT PLACES BUT THEY ALL TELL ME DIFFERENT THINGS, AND THE DEALER IS TOO EXPENSIVE. I WAS EVEN TOLD IT WAS ONLY A SPRING IN THE TRANNY. BUT EVEN TO SHIFT FROM PARK TO REVERSE IS HARD BECAUSE IT KINDA GETS STUCK, SO I HAVE TO DO IT HARD. HAS THIS HAPPENED TO ANYONE? CAN I PLEASE GET HELP? I WOULD REALLY APPRECIATE IT.

THANX

MAXIMA GIRL

Now that you describe the problem in more detail it sounds like your tranny got messed up from the bad mounts.

If so, I'd be going back to the people who installed them.

No im saying from the engine movement it could have damaged the tranny when she had bad mounts.

To check if the motor mounts are bad get in your car. Have someone up front open the hood. Then put your car in drive. Hold the brake with your left foot and press the gas with your right so your car doesnt move, it only revs up and if the engine rocks back and forth alot then you have bad motor mounts.

You See, My Brother And My Boyfriend Installed The 3 New Mounts, But The Engine Keeps Rocking. The New Engine Was Installed Before I Bought The Car. I Already Changed The Tranny Mount, So Why It's Still Messed Up? Do I Need A New Tranny? Any1 With Dat Problem B4?

Well now that you got new mounts, try to change the tranny fluid and filter. When we checked it the color was redish pink, and looked fairly clean, but you never know if the previous owner just drained the fluid and never changed the filter.

Definately sounds like the tranny is slipping and when it finally grabs that is the sudden jerk you are feeling.

I'd say about $1300 in parts, plus another $600 or so for labor?

With only one mount left and not much improvement, sounds like the tranny. Especially if you're almost hitting your head when it shifts!!

Ah, i've read too many horror stories about people getting ****ed over because they leave there car and come back to a 2K bill and cant do anything about it.
