I 'test' drove a 10psiSC Maxi yesterday

Wow.....I felt like I was driving a turd when I got back in my car
Of course it was a lot faster than mine, the torque steer wasnt bad....I just wasnt used to it. When you're stompin on it, you get up to 100+ SOOO fast....it's freakin insane. Makes you think about how good of a motor the VQ is once you feel some power.

Was it auto or manual? That's why I only drive slower cars - to keep me thinking that I drive a fast one.

i wanna boost my auto

it would be one hell of a cruiser, automatic VQ running about 6 pounds....i'd never even push it, roast people without even redlining it

after seeing brandon's i might have to look into this, and begin gathering parts; SC all the way

bijan who did you find around here to let you drive their baby lol

i just want gauges hahahhahaha

You guys need to go to the FI forum to get your answers. But for a quick answer to a question, the smaller the pulley the more boost it gives thus more horsepower. I think the Stillen kit comes with a 9psi pulley, so if you want to get more boost, just change the pulley. But it doesn't end there, the bigger the boost the more you have to do to make sure that the engine will be up to the task such as bigger injectors, fmu, etc.

Correction: stock pulley is 3.6" - 7psi

Nice!!!!!!! Someday, my engine will be like that. Give it til the end of the year......I'm going for 10psi, upgraded injectors, and fuel pump so that I can go smaller on the pulley later on. I'll just do a JWT ECU with a s/c program. That's probably around $3-4k right there. That might be a radical guestimate.

Are you going with a Pathfinder MAF? I'm getting the 370cc as well, well its in the shopping list. If you don't mind me asking, how much did the injectors, MAF, and JWT cost you?

Boost is like a drug you got to have it. I want to try something new that I see very few people try, a small shot of Nitrous and boost. I had my NO2 bottle sitting in my garage for 2 years and had not had a chance to install it. My nitrous junky buddy left the maxima community

thats all you run? and it puts your auto in the 12s? I figured you were running the 3.125 pulley.

your correct cardana, with that run i used the 11lb pulley and 60 shot. i reduced the pulley after i blew. since im into this 1/4 mile thing i figured 9lbs of boost and a higher shot would give me better times without everyday wear and tear of a smaller pulley.

Hal's tc'd maxima was running 10psi with 50 shot of NOS (I think) and he's at 400whp. He probably sold his Maxima already but that monster took out a boosted Mustang no problem! He's running stock engine internals and racing clutch. Being in that car is like being in a rocket ship. It's amazing what turbo will do at the same boost over a supercharger.

I agree that boost is nice. But your argument is flawed a little (by just listing Hals power numbers)....how many motors has Hal blown?

I've had some conversations with him, his intent was to see how much power he can feed the VQ before it reaches it's limits. He intensionally pushed the VQ until failure. He had hook ups for replacement engines so he is able to do this beyond anyone's imagination even.

I understand that, I just don't want people reading this who do not know who Hal is to assume everything went off without a hitch. Mardigras is faster and is still on the stock motor

I read about Mardigra's maxima, but never seen any of his race videos. I have 3 of Hal's race videos and my favorite is when he put away that boosted Mustang. I don't remember if Mardigra's has NOS, correct me if I'm wrong but isn't he running 14psi or something?

*Edit*

I'm wrong, I'm drooling over MardigrasMax's website right now. This man is more insane!
