Rotors and Scored and Grinding???
Rotors and Scored and Grinding???
I am waiting on some Brembo Slot/dimpled Rotors and Axxis Ultimates from the group deal. But as of now my rear pads are done and my rear rotor is rubbing. I think its warped because when I slowly roll the car from a stop it would rub, quiet, rub quiet and the fasted I go the fasted it would rub, quiet... When I press the brake It would sound like loud grinding and a shhhhhh sound??? I bought some entry level brake pads to change them temporary. The rotor has a band of grinded lines. i was told to use sand paper and sand the rotor till its consistanly smoother then use the new pads for the week... Beacuse having the caliper push the empty pad is not too good for the piston... It would push out too much since theres no meat in the pad... And its more likly to seize... Anyway is this the right move for a temporary fix?
Any advice is appreciated

yes you should put the temporary pads in, but dpending on how deep the grooves are I wouldn't bother sanding the rotor. It wouldn't hurt if you had the time to waste, but since it is the rear brakes and they will only be on for a week it most likely isn't a big deal, after a few good stops the pads should start to conform to the rotor.
