How can you tell if your struts are blown?

I've been riding on stock struts and Intrax (1.5 front, 1.8 rear). Trying to figure out if they are blown or not, when I'm driving on smooth pavement the ride is very comfortable, going over bumps is going over bumps, I do have some noise but that's because the guys that changed the springs didn't put those rubber sleeve like things on the bottom of the spring properly..kinda lost here. Thinking about getting GR2s or Konis inserts. Can't do Illuminas unless someone is donating them. Official member of Broke Wallet Kustumz here.

when you go over a bump, your car will bounce like no other, you can check by shoving down on the car at each strut point(ie. LF LB RF RB) and see if the car bounces back and stays, or if it keeps on bouncing. also if your struts are blown, you will most likely be hitting your bumpstops a lot more

For people who didn't drop down their max so it bottoms out on every speed bump...how long did you find the stock struts lasted for? I'm still on my stock struts, they don't bounce or anything when pushed down on, so I'm pretty sure they're fine. Just that when I got my wheels aligned the mechanic was like, "oh yeah, you're gonna have to replace your struts...we have a deal going on right now as a matter of fact..."
Needless to say I didn't bother, but my struts are 10 yrs old and I was just wondering how long most of yours lasted.
