Local Mechanic wrong

i took my 96 to a mechanic he said the problem was my tranny (5spd) not my mounts. THE PROBLEM= when i fllor it and let off i fast it slams forward. the whole car shakes. same soon as i hit my clutch no matter how the rpms. i fiqure the mounts are bad and the slamming is metal to metal. Mecanic says its mt tranny dont know!!

what gear are you in?, because if its first it should do that. First gear is real sensitive, could even happen in second gear. Its called engine breaking.

Yeah but engine braking should not cause violent vibrations, which is what it sounds like here. Motor mounts could definetly be the culprit, but I wouldn't dismiss the tranny altogether just yet. Does it ghappen in all gears or just one? Doe sit happen throughout the RPM band or just at specific points (i.e, high revs).

Good luck with that man. I wish I knew more about the 5 speeds in our car, I'm an autotragic guy (for now).

it doesnt happen in engine braking, i have never seen anyone take their 5spd into 1st gear to "engine brake" like it was said, 1st gear is sensitive, and if you let go of the accelerator in 1st it will "bog" back and forth

hatemedina= it hapens soon as i hit the clutch no matter the gear or rpm!!!. with my hood up and i rev it i see the engine rock forward and back but every one says its normal.....it rocks hard and fast..

Its normal to do that, every 5spd owner here knows that, so if you want it to improve, the best you can probably do is get new motor mounts.
