for people familiar with the wiring in the trunk

I would like to wire up a neon to the trunk light simply because I have a spare lying around and that tiny bulb cant light up much. I'd like to know how to get to the wiring behidn that plastic white dome cover. I already broke the clip off of it, and want to be careful when tryin to get to the wiring. Should I just stick a flathead in there and yank it off? Thanks

I would basically like to replace the light that lights up the trunk area when it is opened with a neon bar i have lying around. Have it light up with the trunk open and turn off when closed. I'm pretty sure its a noob wiring job, but I just don't want to break anything, ie. round dome cover.

there should be 2 screws holding the bulb holder. Take it out and the harness will follow. there is a connector, you can cut and splice, or run the wires right into the harness

I had 2 neons up there before.....they don't reflect as well as you think they might. Might have to go with a cold cathode.
