QUICK! Oil Change gone horribly wrong.

Ok, so this is how it went down. So my brother is supervising me as I throttle my max up my rhino ramps so I can do an oil change. Ends up one of them is slightly off, the right side. so i change my oil, pretty uneventful, until i finish and slowly back down off the ramps. CRASH! the right side slides out just as I pass the half way point and the right foglight is smashed to little pieces, (interestingly enuf this is how i discovered that the foglight coveres are made of glass). Now i need to remove the foglight becuase it just looks wrong.
I've removed the foglight, now i need some new ones, yea!!! First of all, are there replacement stock foglights that i can find somewhere? second of all, what are your recommendations for aftermarket foglights on a 91 Max SE? (also what kind of assembly is involved, thanks)

I really can't answer your question but I just had to look at this thread because of the wierd title. Just look at the plug and try to find out what you are supposed to squeeze or whatever to let it loose.

Yes, you can buy stock from junk yard

for aftermarket replacement, look for any square-ish looking ones and it'll sit right, or if you just plain don't care, then just slap on any pair of cheap fogs. As far as assembly goes, just put use the stock holes, and put one screw in there, and if the assembly is not long enough, then drill a hole for the second screw to secure that thing on, then just connect the wires.

the stock lenses (comes with the inner reflector as one piece) is only $25 each from courtesy nissan or other discount dealers.

Replace both if you go this route though because that new one will look much better than the old one.

Excuse me and my rotten brains: who/why collects/sets yellow stars for a thread? Does a row of them mean that the thread is total zero like this?

If you hold your cursor over the stars it says something like "thread rating 5, 1 total vote" so I'm guessing someone voted on the thread, probably the member who started it voted to get more attention. Maybe I'll give it a bad vote and see what happens...

Seems to shoot down some... lets try if I can get one.

This is murky stargame: on any thread that is onec voted "terrible", gets a star. Is this how generals become four star generals???

Question. I have a GXE with no fog lights, but live in a very foggy area. I want the fog lights with yellow glass.

Are the stocks yellow?
Can I put them easily into the GXE bumper?

I thought that the harness is already there and all I would need was a button and relay... Am I right or wrong?

1. No they are white

2. Yes you can

3. It is all there plus the inside harness for the button.

The lights on the SE are actually driving lights and not fog lights. If you want fogs I suggest you go aftermarket and get actual fogs because driving lights with yellow bulbs will not equal fog lights.

Hey its not being "rude" to say that...then again maybe you were just being a SA by saying that...dont know...your call.

I swear I read somewhere that we had driving lights and not fog lights but I was wrong (hey at least I admit when I am wrong however seldom it is ). I just checked my owners manual and they do indeed call them fog lights. I cant remember where I read it the other way around (I thought my owners manual)...maybe it was somthing else I was looking into...dont know its been a long time and I am too old to remember everything I take in.

i read somewhere i cant remember where, but it was that fog lights and driving lights have different beams and that "technically" you only have fog lights if they come on with your brights (basically making them only for use off road)....because that was how my wranglers lights were wired.......i dont know now i think ive heard every case about how they are one or the other though.

I didn't know that, so your saying they just need the foglights and brackets? So the plugs for the foglights are just dangling somewhere in the bumper of GXE's?

the wiring for the fog lights are plugged into a cap that is taped to the turn signal lights. It was like that on my 90 and 92 GXEs. The wiring for the plug is in the harness behind the buttons. You may have to dig in there a little but its in there.

When I put SE fogs on my 92 GXE I used those factory wires that were already run and plugged in a factory switch and the fogs. Then I added a relay under the hood (I think its been a while) and a fuse. The fuse and relay holders are there but there is nothing in them.

Its a piece of cake.

see now that doesnt make sense. I always thought it was the other way around because yellow allows you to see through the fog better.

Oh well learn something new everyday.

so i checked these piaa fogs out on ebay, they're used and I think they'd look pretty nice on my max, but it seems that they come as is in the picture. So does the plug in the picture look like i could use the stock plug. If not, would i have to buy a relay and wiring? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=33709
