got any exhaust leaks?
air filter clean?
plugs look good?
heavy right foot?
no its the girl's car i drive the 97 but her foot is not heavy -like mine- i ck'ed the plugs and they re good. she went from the mid 20's to mid teen's....not sure what else to look for..she and i cant afford this at this rate 2.59 for reg around here at chevron......
I'd do fuel filter and air filter. Cheap and probably never had been done. Then consider a new 02 if it's been over 50k. New plugs if it's been over 60k. Then if it still runs like crap, then you are going to have to give a much better explaination. Also check for tire pressure. Low pressure can kill mileage also
... i changed my cone filter recently and i see a dip in gas millage despite my recent replacement of O2. but the car drives fine with good power.
i think it's because more air is being fed through the intake and the maf tells the ecu to dump in more gas to maintain f/a ratio and make more power.
