Help Needed

I have owned my 97 maxima for about 2 1/2 years now. I have 170,000 miles on the motor and i got a new tranny at 145,000, yes a new automatic . Since my motor is now getting a little old and sluggish and since i have recently fell into a good amount of money, what do my fellow maxima owners suggest i do. Buy a new motor and do a 5 speed swap. Or buy a new maxima. Taken into consideration i have spent a large amout of money on my maxima (performance, suspension, audio) If anyone can please give me their input that would be great.

first: why would you get a new tranny if you just got a new one...the 5 spd is up to you...but you just got a new auto tranny 25,000 miles ago....dont mess with your tranny if you dont need too....what makes you say your engine is sluggish?...maybe you just need a full tune up...someone I know had an 86 maxima that went 385,000 miles with plenty of power...the maxima engine should last well up to 300,000 miles if properly maintained...tell me more about your sluggish engine?

Well other than my oil pressure that has dropped, which i think is from worn main crank bearings. my #2 cylinder has lower compression than all the other cylinders. I go to A tech college and am soon to be certafied in Automotive tech. Also my vaccum is a little sloppy which i think is due to a stickey valve.
