Tokico Illumina Kit + 5th gen 17" wheels: Pics and mini-review: 56k beware

ok, let me start off by commenting on how easy the install was. I had a couple of blokes help me out with it, since it was the first time any of us had worked on suspension. all you need is a little bit of time.

let me say secondly how fantastic the ride is with this setup. i personally have ridden on an eibach setup, as well as a sprint setup, and even a cut-stock springs setup (eeeek), and this is by far the best i have felt so far. the illumina's allow for a totally customizable setup for whatever ride/handling you prefer.

the body roll is pretty much nil now, especially with the help of the rear sway.

right now im running 3 front / 2 rear on the illuminas and its a very neutral setting, the back reacts the same as the front under hard cornering, and it is a very comfortable compromise.

it lowered 100% evenly all around, even with a little bit of weight in the trunk, which is great. its a VERY tight 3 finger gap between my 235/45/17's all around, which makes for a completely even wheel gap all around the wheel well.

OK on to the pictures.

damn it, if you got the illuminas a month ago and posted this review, i would have never gotten the eibach/gr2 combo.

did you happen to get a alignment check too see how bad your camber is off and if they can correct it without a kit?

OH about the alightment. the front right toe was a little off, but other than that, everything is in factory spec without any camber bolts needed. i'm going to get it re-checked in a few weeks, i jumped on that 100 dollar lifetime alignment deal at firestone the day after i put the suspension on (amazing deal).

no, i planned on it, but after inspecting them while doing the install, i noticed everything looked great, bearings, top mounts, gaskets, dustboots were immaculate. (77k miles).

one thing that strikes me interesting is how people say "oh, i want to only have to work on suspension once... get it right the first time"... well, if i had to redo something on mine, i wouldnt mind at all, thats how non-cosmic the whole process is, it was actually an enjoyable and simple install
