symptoms of a bad PCV valve

So what are they? I'm wondering because I didn't have mine replaced at 60,000 miles, as is indicated on the service bulletin (I had everything else done though) and my car's been acting a little weird lately (rough idle and the engine, in general, seems to be noisier).

its so cheap you shouldn't really need to debate whether to change it or not.

I'm not debating whether to change, I just forgot to have it done at the 60K tuneup. Right now, I'm just trying to decide if it's a PCV valve or something else, because my schedule's incredibly busy and I don't have a bunch of time to bring my car to the shop if it's not fairly important.

Question: What is the purpose of the PCV valve and what are the symptoms when it goes bad?

Answer: PCV means positive crankcase ventilation. This valve uses vacuum from the intake manifold to draw the fumes from the crankcase. Symptoms of a faulty PCV valve are poor idle and excessive pressure in the crankcase.

8 bucks shipped or something liek that at JR nissan. Just warm up the car a little to have the hoses a little warmer and softer. I had trouble getting the hoses off. and make sure you keep the clamps on the hose and not fall into the engine bay. I just used duct tape to keep it up while I re-did it. I had a smoother idle after that, but for only the first couple hundred miles.
