Quieting my Magnaflow.

Ok so I bought the 2.5 inch system from Warpspeed with a resonator and the double walled tip muffler. The sound is alright around town and for being a stupid young teenager. I now drive a bit more on the highway though at anywhere from 55 to 80 and it is kind of driving me nuts. I really love the looks of the muffler and all and I paid way to much for it so what else could I do to quiet it down. I was thinking of either putting in a better resonator or going back to 2.25 piping instead of 2.5. I really don't want to switch to anything else becuase I haven't heard many others that are fairly mellow. Thanks in advance for any replies.

Just an addition I also have a warpspeed y-pipe.

Type of resonator(glasspack, turbopack, ect...) That is the best way to describe it, even though that is not 100% correct.

No glasspack, turbopack. My friend had 30in glasspack it and droned so loud. Turbopack stopped the droning.

its not that i dont love my magnaflow, its that on long roadtrips, it tends to get annoying. if i go 55ish, it doesnt drone, same with over 75, anything in between (the speed limit), i get a drone.

ive got a y-pipe, stock cat, stock B, and magnaflow rear seaction.

I quited my muffler with a 22" resonator........it sounds almost stock now. I like being able to hear my intake and exhaust, instead of just my exhaust............I also have a Y-Pipe, and 2.5" piping with my magnaflow.........

Just get another round magnaflow. Put that in the b-pipe in place of the resonator. There is room for a monster in there. Mine is 3"ID x 6"Case x 30"L. But I have it coming straight off the y(no cat or rear o2).

With just that it sounds very nice below 5K. Past that it gets raspy. But in conjunction with your current Magnaflow it would be very quiet.

Wouldn't these two things kill the flow? Especially running two mufflers?

I run a Y, no resonator and a Y2k maxima muffler. VERY quiet. And I also have a custom bent 2.25" catback with a high flow cat.

Even a high flow cat kills flow much more than a muffler. The straight through designs really don't steal much.
