Yeah, I put Dexron III in mine. I bought it in 2002 and remember looking for it at KMart. Believe it or not, they only had 1 quart on the shelf and a lady was looking for it too--I grabbed it first. That's when that chain was going down the drain.....wouldn't you have loved to bought some KMart stock 2 years ago? Only 1000% return.......coulda shoulda woulda!

ATF stands for Automatic Transmission Fluid.
Dextron II and Dextron III are brand names of transmission fluid.
Most power steering systems use ATF which basically is hydraulic fluid.
Honda uses a specific power steering fluid as does a few other cars, usually exotics and high end imports.
So in answer to your question, yes there is a differance between specific power steering and ATF fluids.
