Anyone know to wire the fogs so they stay on when you turn on the High Beams? Stock they go off when you turn your high beams on.

Also anyone know how to re-wire your side markers to blink when you put your turn signal on?

 

You know what's funny? If you pull on the high beam lever about 1/4 way, the fogs will stay on. In fact, if you hit the right spot, you can have all three lights on at the same time. Experiment with it in a very dark and narrow spot -- like a garage or something; somewhere where light won't have space to get lost in.

 

I knew that, But I want to wire it up so i dont have to hold it in the middle, But all I have to do is hit the brights and they both stay on.

 

I know. I'm just saying.

 

Go to your fuse box in the engine bay. Find your fog light relay. Pull the fuse box out so that you can see the underside of it. Find the ground wite for that relay (if I remember correctly it is the green wire with a blue strip, might have a gray black or white strip I can't remember at the moment easy to guess and check tho) cut that wire and put some electrical tape on the end coming out of the fuse box to cover it up. Then find the relay for the tail lights and splice the ground wire for the fog lights in to the ground wire for the tail lights. (I don't remember but I think it is just the plain black ground wire) Close everything back up and try it out.

 

Actually now that I think about it, what I just said is so that you can have your foglights on with just your parking lights on.

 

Know of any links with how to's? I just dont want to go in and cut the wrong wire's.

Is it the fuse box in the engine bay or the drivers side in the cabin box.

So the lights will stay on with high beams?

It wont blow the fuse because drawing to much power?

sorry I wasn't thinking and that will allow them to come on with the parking lights only instead of just with the headlights.

For them to stay on with the highbeams you have to do re-wiring around the steering column.

 

I just started posting without thinking about it at first, posted it and was like "wait that's the wrong re-wire" lol.

 

Anyone know how to re-wire around the steering column?

Re-wire foglights to stay on with the highbeams:


Pull your AIR BAG fuse of disconnect your battery (working around the steering column). Unscrew the black backing plate for the steering wheel. Remove the top piece of that assembly. Look for a SMALL WHITE plug in connector near the switch for the highbeams. There are two wires going to it. Cut the wire that is coming out from the bottom of the plug in connector. Use another piece of wire to extend this wire to a grounded bolt under the dash. Unscrew that bolt and put that wire underneath that bolt, screw that bolt back. Put everything back together.


Your foglights will now stay on with your highbeams.

Whats the point behind pulling the air bag fuse? do you put it back after? or you wont need it after,

 

Yes you put it back and pulling the fuse or disconnectiong the battery is just for a little bit of peace of mind that the air bag isn't going to go off. And yes you can do both.

There are only two wires for the highbeam re-wire you can't go wrong there, you just cut the wire at the bottom of the connector, not the one at the top.

 

I figured it out on my own, but I am sure that you can find a link to a how-to.

 

Do you know the color by any chance?

 

They are both black wires.
