Hey guys,

Just wanted to introduce myself. I traded in my 5th gen for a 6th gen. I'll update my screen name to reflect my new car. I love it already. The 5th gen forum was very informative and I'm sure this one will be also. Any advice you guys can give for this car will be appreciated. In the meantime, I am going to look through some posts in this forum. Thanks.

Welcome,

Always good to have another 6th gen, and a Texan at that!

Post your pics so we can decide what mods you need and what Dues will want you to paint black

Welcome my friend. Another North Texas 6th Gen. We're cooking with now. Lol. I really wanted to use that smiley. Seriously, welcome. You're in GP, where'd you shop? Duncanville or Arlington?

Wow! Thanks for all the replies so far. The color is sorta maroon. I got it at Don Davis Nissan. I got a decent deal since I bought the '01 from the same place. When I figure out how to post pics, I will. Thanks again.

My '01 was majestic blue. I think my color is oppulence red. This one is the best thus far, as I have owned a '87, '88, '98, '01, and now a '05. The power this car has is amazing, although it only has 28 miles on it so I guess I have to baby it until it gets a few more miles on it.

You have the same color as me. I owned an '02 Max GLE before I got my '05 SL.

Yep. Red opulence with tan cloth interior. I think my first mod will be a grille and possibly some aftermarket wheels later on. Right now, I just smile every time I hit the accelator. Nissan got it right this time

I hate to be a me-tooer, but I also traded my max in for a new one.

Mine was a little older, though... a 4th gen (1995). The transmission was going (or so the mechanic told me) and I needed a couple new motor mounts, and I decided it would be best to just go ahead and get another vehicle.

What did I look at? Nothing but the Max, baby.

So I snagged an '05 SE with 19K for $25K, + 7yr / 100K miles ext warr ($1100), floor mats and Skyview window (would've preferred sunroof, but not a dealbreaker). Came out to around $26K with my trade ($1500) and taxes and everything.

Couldn't be happier. Well, not without Angelina Jolie in the passenger seat, anyway...

Welcome,

Another Texan here and I'm new here too. Just got two 2005 SE's last week. One for me and one for the wife. The mods to mine will have to wait a while since I'm broke from having to buy two of them so the wife wouldn't divorce me for taking her car.

04blackmaxx,

Yep, two SE's one last Saturday, wife's and the other one last Tuesday, mine. Wife said she'd divorce me if I didn't leave her car alone (just kidding), so I bought myself one three days later. Both SE's DPP, Sunroof, etc. , mine also has the VDC package. Her's Coral Sand, Cafe Latte leather, mine, Liquid Silver, Frost leather. Guess saying that I'm really impressed with this car would be an understatement. This 6th gen Max is the best bargin luxury/handling car on the market today.

New to the Forum, but owned the rocket for a year

First let me start off by saying that this site rocks! I cant explain how
many times this site and your responses have helped me out with some of
the problems my Max and I have encountered. I just recently upgraded
my system (something i vowed when i got the max that i would not do,
but did anyway) and once i get a digital cam, I will post some pics. I
hope some of y'all dont mind but i "borrowed" a couple of ideas. LOL !!!
Pics would be coming soon tho.

i replaced an 02 Explorer with my 04 Maxima. i really didnt give the Max too much though before. I had an 03 Acura TL Type-S, then the Explorer (which a tree fell on and totalled) and now the Max. it was kinda strange- one day, searching the internet, i found a few 04 SE's that i liked. a few days went by and i found a 'newly listed 04 SE' (that i ultimately bought) and couldnt stop going back to the cars.com listing, looking at the pics. LOL

i love this car. really do. keeping it clean is the key for it to stand out.
