Home Depot Valence Grille - Comments?

I went to Home Depot and picked up some parts and made up a valence grille for my 2K max. It is made of white plastic (no rusting issues) and is attached with thin almost invisible cable ties. I am not sure if the image will work (if I placed it right into thread), if not please go to my page http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/732189/1 for more pics... Any comments?

i am not feeling the square pattern. But I admire your work. It looks nice. I would have done it with a dimond pattern.

Want to post a DIY?

yeah a diamond pattern would have looked better. I found a diamond pattern which was a lot thicker than the regular chicken wire. It was n the section where you can get threaded rods and pieces of sheet metal... not in the building materials but somewhere close to the garage section or hardware section.

Thanks :-) I also got the diamond pattern piece of gutter wire, but that was made of galvanized steel, so would either need to paint it or deal with rusting. I put them on both and felt that squares look better as they better match in color to the color of the car. Also I was not too keen on the steel color look and was too lazy to prime it and paint it to see the difference :-)

I'm not feelin it either, but you did a good job. I can't say much, only mod I've done is tinting the windows and my stereo system. lol I think the diamond shape would have looked better. It is original though.

Hehe, thanks for the compliments and critique too. I like the originality of it. I did not think it would look that good either but after I put it on I liked it, especially how it blends nicely in color with the rest. I'll try putting the same behind the main grille and see how that looks. If it looks anything good, I'll post those pics too...

I like the look. If you slap a Stillen sticker on it, you could sell the "kit" on e-bay for 4-500 bucks!

How big is the piece of plastic? Would you be able to turn it 45 degrees to make it a diamond shape. Good project!

That's an idea! It comes as a big sheet 3'x5' so I still have some left over to play with. I'll give it a try on the weekend...

I do agree that it looks better than stock, but i think, like some others, that a diamond cut pattern would look better.
