Clutch losing tension and fluid...

Folks,

My 95SE clutch seems to be losing hydraulic fluid. I cannot see the source of the leak. The car has 115K miles on it. Also, the clutch provides no tension for the 1st half of the downward travel but then I can feel the tension at the 1/2 way point. This could be due to air in the hydraulic lines from fluid loss. So...

Is it possible that the slave cylinder is going bad? Is this thing easy to replace? Or does it require a shop to do?

Any additional help in this area would be appreciated. Thanx.

The Haynes manual has a write-up on how to replace the clutch hydraulic release cylinder, which I trust is the slave. If the fluid level of the clutch fluid dispenser has gotten too low air can be drawn into the master cylinder and the clutch hydraulic system should be bled.

Look harder for a leak; it has to be going somewhere.

Did you try bleeding it? Replacing the slave is not hard to do at all.

Bleed the clutch system and see what happens.
