wheel spacer and stock 2001 wheels

Looking to put a spacer in the back to push the wheel more even with the front, any suggestions, comments, best places to get and best prices....also looking to lower the car, do not want it in the weeds mainly just level the front with the rear as the front looks alot higher, I want an adult ,classy ,BMW 330I look that can go in the car wash and take rough roads without bouncing me through the sun roof...any suggestions greatly appreciated.

here some info I found on the org for wheel spacers
http://home.insightbb.com/~davidwhon...cer/spacer.htm

In your opinion, what are the pros and cons for wheel spacer?
Heres what I thought off, add or correct the list please:
PROS:
- look (wheels even with fender)
- handling (wider stance)
- other?
CONS:
- harder on mechanic?
- less thread on studs if you keep the same studs
- what else?

Im thinking about getting wheel spacers but wondering if theres drawbacks to it.
thanks!

I got the 15mm H&R spacers a while back, although I think you can go with 20 or even 25mm. I think it looks great, but I didnt notice any difference in handeling though.

The H&R kit is really nice. The spacers are hubcentric and the longer studs, which are needed, come provided. They are light weight and look really good. It's a shame they have to go behind the wheel. lol.

Forgot where I got them tho... It was a long time ago.

The size you get depends on what you're trying to do. If you're just trying to get your stock rear wheels to push out a little more so they look even, 20mm spacers are nice. If you happen to have aftermarket wheels with a weird offset, then the spacers you choose will depend on the offset of your wheels.

For the suspension you should probably go with the H&R's too. They have a nice level drop and Ive heard that the ride is pretty good. I have the Eibachs so I dont have any experience with the H&Rs. The Eibach pro kit is great, but be prepared for a good stiff ride though.

For struts I went with the Tokico Illumina adjustable dampers. These things are awesome! They keep any bouncing under control and make for super handeling. I got mine for around $400 or so from www.southwestautoworks.com

I found a site that has the stubs installed on the spacer itself, with no need to remove the old stubs. very simple install. I will post the site alittle later if no one beats me to it.

30mm i think is too much, but I dont really know. I have not seen an org memeber put 30mm on or even if they make 30mm for our car.

Ya you don't necessarily need the H/R, though they are nice quality.
This place here has really quality spacers IMO. They are "KYO" and Ive had 2 sets on my s13 and s14 and they worked out great. No need to wack out studs, these go rightonto your wheel and come with hubcentric rings for each application. I had no vibrations at all and was always swapping wheels for track/street in my 240. This is a really old pic when i first got them, but you get the point with a bolt on spacer. I think 15mm is the smallest bolt on size you can get with these, I like them because they match quality with all others and are by far the cheapest...

I found wheel spacers on that site, but they all came with new studs in 20mm. Do you know something we don't?

Ya sorry I accidentally said 15mm was the size, I meant 25mm is the smallest size bolt on they have. My apologies.

you 240 guys and wheel spacers. jk My friend has some spacers on his 240sx also except he has 1 1/2 inch spacers since his r32 wheels do not come flush with his fenders. Do you know if the s14 dust cap and maxima dust cap are the same size?

I have 15mm spacers on and you can barely see the difference, also I have kyb gr2's and tein s-tech way too low and rough. The reason you can't go any wider with the wheel spacers was stated earlier, not enough threads.

Yeah, 15mm spacers may not push out far enough. 20mm spacers don't really push the wheels out noticeably; they just get rid of the weird recessed look of the rear wheels, and they make the car look like the way it was supposed to look in the first place. If you go with 20mm or wider spacers, you'll need longer studs to replace the stock ones, or else there won't be enough thread to secure the wheels on.

Then I "might" just be the one to get the 30mm spacers on the back and 25mm up front.

the H&R spacers already come with longer studs, so the 20mm size shouldnt be a problem. I'm thinking about getting them myself....

I had H&R 15 mm spacers up front and H&R 20 mm spacers at the rear with the stock TE rims (45 offset) and 235/45-17 tires. Both set of spacers came with longer bolts and the tires were flush with the car. I also have Maxspeed springs which give a slight drop without a harsh ride and no rubbing. I purchased the spacers from here.

I now have the G35C rims (30 offset) with 235/40-18 tires that you see in my sig. I am still using the stock shocks but will be purchasing Iluminas soon.

Don't wheel spacers put unnecessary stress on the wheel bearings? If you don't want your car so low that it is terrible, then go with the Eibach pro-kit. It is firm, but controlled. I like the stiffness of them, it makes the car feel like a tank in terms of solidity.

Let me see if I get this right. When you guys say that the spacer kits from H&R come with longer studs, do you mean that the studs come preattached to the spacer or do the studs have to be pressed into the existing hub?

H&R type need to be pressed into existing where they replace the original bolts.
