arent you supposed to use a couple layers? i read that a while back i think if you use too many its fuzzy and dull but you should be able to use a couple.

i think youre going to need a more purplish color of celephane, and no, you dont need more layers, that will only make it more red.

Mine has a slight red tint to it during the day. At night it is a nice white and only has a red tint if you really look for it. I also cut the dimmer switch. It matches my headunit pretty well.

A friend of mine is trying to do orange (don't ask why, it's his car)

I don't know what colors he should use to get an orange effect.

Thanks

YES, I just did mine an hour ago & it came out beautifully. We'll see how it looks in daylight.
Also do the clock mod (always bright) it will match the rest very nicely.

yeah man, really. use a very light red colored celophane paper. just one layer. and use clear scotch tape to tape off as close to the edge as possible. worked fine for me. i ended up changing it to blue later on tho

2-3 will give you red

problem is, every layer makes it fade more, and makes it more fuzzy

ok... only reason it is pissing me off... is b/c i bought RED celophange paper from hobby lobby...

and it dosen't turn it white.. more of a dullish pink... tried again by not taping over the display and it done the same thing..

maybe the paper isn't 100% smooth or something. i dunno.

Hey, to be honest with you, I had the same problem.
I bought two different rolls of celophange paper (both red but slightly different shades)
The first one I tried made it turn pinkish....the second one made it turn red.

If you want, give me your address & I will cut a piece out for you & send it to you (free of charge).
I have a whole roll

Umm...good luck with that buddy. The cellophane mod is the one people do because it is impossible/hard to change the clock's led.

it turns pink because the red is too dark.
