2 Cooling System Questions (This is gonna make me look so stupid)

1> My radiator has a 1.5 inch crack at the neck of it. It's just under where the coolant resevoir hose connects to the radiator. When I drove the car home from NJ about two weeks ago (just bought it) it started to overheat a little and then it would slowly drop down and then back up and then back down again. I'm thinking the pressure in the radiator is all messed up from air either getting inside the radiator or it not being able to hold pressure. My dad says I can just JB Weld it or use a radiator stop leak on it. I'm guessing a new radiator would fix this problem am I correct?

2> I was looking under the car and saw this huge plastic bottle with coolant in it. It was in front of the passenger side wheel well all the way at the bottle where the foglight goes. This is my first 4th gen and I'm trying to get acquainted with it. What is that bottle ?

1 - JB Weld should be a temporary fix. You'd have to do thick coats of it, but until you get a new radiator that should help a little. Yes you need a new one.

2 - Not sure. Can't remember what was there in my old 4th gen.

1> Get a new radiator so you dont lose your engine
2> That is your Windsheild Washer Fluid Tank...if you follow the Neck up, thats where you fill that

Also you can run the heat on full blast to help cool down the car when your overheating. You probably already knew this but just in case, a handy tip to help cool your car. just lower all windows so you dont melt.

If I used JB Weld on the crack and the JB Weld Radiator Stop Leak would that probably fix the crack until I can get a new radiator? I've never used it before. Anybody on here ever used it and have gotten good results? I'm dying to drive this car but I wont do drive it as long as I know it's going to overheat
