Intake making breathing sound at idle

I have noticed over the last month that you can hear my intake just breathing away at idle. It doesn't sound exactly like a hissing sound because that only comes from air escaping outwards. I will take a video when I get home from work and upload it. Is this normal??? I know the sound is definately coming from around the filter, but I am afraid to take the wheel well off because I broke it when I installed the intake and had to ghetto rig it to stay on. Also I know my intake is not secured in one place. I just through the pipe down the hole and put the filter on. Are you suppose to hold it down some how because I can hear the filter banging on either the fender or the wheel well every time I got over the smallest crack in the roads.

make sure that all the couplers are on the pipe correctly. Sometime it will look like the whole pipe is in the coupler when in actuality there is only half. or the coupler is a little bend underneath.

put some rubber around the pipe where it goes down the hole so it won't be banging aganst it and making noise... you can get some at home depot.

I get the breathing sound from my G20. Sorry I am a new to the max so if this doesn't make sense please disregard. My noise is from my PCV hose. On the sr's there is a hose that comes off of the engine and recirculates blow by gasses back into the intake pipe to be burned. Mine currently isn't hooked up and I get the noise. But I am sure if it was hooked up and leaking I would get the same noise.

Also on when I had my s13 with a CAI it made the breathing noise also but I figured it was suppose to since I couldn't find anything wrong with it. Maybe you should try cleaning your filter. I would assume if it was rather dirty and had some small rocks in it that the air rushing over them as it gets sucked in would make some noise?
