will a PS2 in your car skip?

I planning on buying a PS2 slim soon, and also a 7" dvd screen from Redmax (hopefully they're still available) and hooking them up in my car.. my only question is whether or not the discs will skip while driving, like a DVD, not nessecarily a game. thanks in advance.

No. You will be fine. I had my ps2 on the floor under the passenger seat, no skips at all.

Ok, you guys are out of control.
First of all , if you get a xbox and put a mod chip in it and a hard drive, you can put tones of games on it. (I have about 80). Then you can use a wireless network card for the xbox, drive into your driveway, then use your wireless router to ship new games to the xbox that you have just downloaded for free.
It can play all media that your computer can play and more.
highlights:
No DVDs/Cds in car
Free ****
xbox is better, heh

And for the comment buying a 7" screen from redline maxima, obvisouly you have not ever shopped for car stereos.
You could probably get a better one for cheaper at a local store.

my "7 tv in-idash

i paid $175 off of ebay for the monitor(cheap non name brand). With luck the screen has worked great for the past year, it always has bright & clear picture. But it was risky to buy off of EBay and i had to buy a seprate headunit of my choice.

Yeah, i thought about getting an xbox, but in reality im really going to be using it mostly for movies, and i hate the way you view movies on the xbox, you cant use the controller appartenly, you have to use some remote, and id have to shove it underneath my seat.. i know im just picky, i think it'd just be easier to have a PS2.

Hurd: I've researched screens for months, and i have already come across that screen you own. The 7" that Redmax sells is better quality, and it's 155 shipped to my door. Its clear this is the better deal. Also, i don't want mine to flip out, i just want it to be nice and flush

Dude do you like that set up. I had the same thing in my I30, but I got tired of seeing it that way. It just didn't look neat enough for me. I took out both the flip out and the head unit and added a screen right where they came from then took out the push pocket and placed my head unit in there. It's actually even cheaper to do it that way.

What about size though? The x-box is freakin' huge!!! There's no way that's going under the seat, or in the glove box. I'll be going PS2 when I do it.

You can do all that on a PS2 without a modchip, + the better games. The wireless network car is pointless. It can only be used when you are in proximity(spelling?) to your connection.

I have the slim ps2 stashed under the passenger side and have a few games, but dont use it very often. The gf loves to play Bubble Bobble or those kiddie girlie games while i drive at times. I usually only use it on long rides as a dvd player.

i like my setup for what it cost me, & i havent seen any cheap "none-flipout in-dash" montiors yet. do you have one of these screens on ur max? i would <3 to see it, i am sure it would nicer then my crap.

How is it the same without the modchip???? and what is better the quality of the game or there more game for ps2? Because that is no longer the case it was when it first came out, but they have a lot of games now, plus every game looks better, i had a few friends who own ps2 play xbox game with the same title game, it look better. So what is better and what you mean without the modchip are you talking about the ps2 harddrive that you buy??? I don't think you can save a whole gave in there without a chip. PLus PS2 doesn't come with a hd, so what are talking about?

A mod chip is what you use to play primarily burned games or games made for other model ps2's (i.e. japanese)
