need your help ( issues w/ gauges )

i tried to connect the reverse glow switch wires to the headlights and a small spark appeared. yeh i no, my mistake. now my odometer won't work but my rpm, and temp gauges work. i had about a half a tank of gas but now it keeps going up. and whenever i push it down to half, it keeps going up.

what are my solutions? maybe buy a non digital gauge cluster? how would i set how many miles i have onto the new one?

Sounds like you possibly fried a connector or two in the cluster assembly. My suggestion would be to go to a junkyard and pick up another 97-99 cluster and have the dealer adjust the odometer to your original readings. But a warning: because you have messed up your odometer, your title may now reflect this change if the DMV gets word

i think its okay as long as u record the original and the new miles so u can take however many miles u add on the new cluster onto to the original if i wanted to sell it.

If your odo. doesnt read the correct milage, it will lower your resale value, so you should def. have it sent in for calibration
