What removes spray paint?

Short of long story, can of spray paint exploded and is ALL over my car. Paint looks like gray primer.

Any help getting this off? Can I use a paint thinner or do I have to get it buffed off or worse, the car repainted....

i used brake cleaner... but very small doses.
What happened was I ran over a can of gray primer and the stuff exploded all over my car. Ugly sight, but i got most of it off, if not all.

Try a clay bar perhaps that will work

if it's still fresh get some 3M bug and tar remover and dab on and see if it comes out.

buffing won't do anything, maybe try a clay bar..or brake thinner or maybe alcohol or acetone but in suuuuuper small amounts on a napkin or something..but i'd deff try a good clay bar first..good luck man..sorry to hear about that

clay works pretty good on small paint specs, somehow my car got a bunh of overspray on it, takes abit of elbow grease but it all came off, i guess you could also thry compound on realy heavy areas

Wow! Thats alot more than I imagined was on the car. I was gonna say use a Razor Blade & scrape it off, but thats alot more than you would want to do by hand with a razor blade. Maybe ask a bodyshop & see what they say?.........

that actually looked pretty cool at first..looks like light is being reflected in water onto your car..id suggest using turtle wax commercial rubbing compound. (should be red on inside) works wonders. try not to over rub it though. will rub your clearcoat off if you do it too much. im almost 100% sure most of it/all of it will come off depending on how well you kno how to use it
edit//
pm me if you want tips on using the compound, otherwise, im assuming you kno how to use it

Spoke with a few body shops and that is what they reccommended. If it did not work they said to use rubbing compound.

I used laquer thinner and it worked real well. I put it on a small area and in about 10 seconds it started wiping right off. After another 10-20 seconds it evaporated and did not remove paint. I worked quick, a small area at a time.I used a rag with the thinner to wipe the paint off, used another damp rag to wipe and excess paint then wash with car soap and water. Got most if it off, just have to get the small paint specs that are ALL over the car, on the roof, rear bumper, windows, etc.

Next a good clay bar, polish and wax, thanks all!

I actually own my own detailing business. What's funny is I actually had to get paint off of a customers Max this weekend. I used a mild rubbing compound to get all the paint off. I then buffed it out and the paint was clean. The car was black so it had to be buffed no matter what I did to get it off. If you decide to use rubbing compound, you don't need a whole lot , but judging by the amount of paint you have on the car it's going to take a while.

I didnt want to use anything abrasive if I didnt have to so I avoided sanding or buffing. The laquer thinner worked good but I still have to get a Qtip and get in some of the cracks. I'm not even going to bother with the bottom of the car....(right now anyway)
