Might be a stupid question, but i've never dealt with this with Bose. I don't wanna replace all my speakers to swap out the head unit, is there anything else I can do to keep my speakers working fine with an aftermarket HU? I know that if you swap out the HU alone, you'll get like wind noise from your speakers, or something like that, but is there an adapter? converter? Let me know guys. I might be going with the....

 

I believe certian H/U's dont have a problem being compatible with the Bose speakers. That is what I was told by the guy who installed my Alpine Deck. Check with wherever you are buying it.

 

They have an adapter that is supposed to make everything work together. Just ask any of the installers/salespeople at a Tweeter or something. It is supposed to be pretty straightforward. Good Luck.

 

You will need 2 wiring harnesses, an antenna adaptor, and depending on the HU, a bose adaptor. I woiuld recommend calling a sales rep @ Crutchfield, they will at least tell you what you need.

my friend had the adaptor and still ruined all his bose speakers after about 9 months. so he had to replace all his internals with aftermarkets. bose sucks....

 

I'm not arguing the fact that Bose sucks, but I wouldn't blame that on Bose. Most factory speakers, be they from a "premium sound system" or regular, tend to suck. So when you buy an aftermarket HU that's putting out significantly more power than your stock HU, and you're cranking the thing up, your speakers are likely to blow. This explains why most change speakers and head unit rather than just the head unit.

I am ordering a Pac OEM-NIS2 kit that's suppose to work. I did not know there was another kit out there. "I hope I order the right siht".

anyway, studman is a realiable guy so I am going by what he said. I will let you all know if it works. I am waiting on the parts, it should be about two weeks or so before I attemp the install.


Question: Would anyone know the work around on the cable connected to the ebrake lamp? I was looking in the manual and I am confused and have no idea how to connect it.

 

To convert to an AM head unit with bose speakers, you need the PAC-ROEM-NIS2 adaptor. It is plug and play essentially.

 

I recommend the AVIC-N1, although I think it blew my tweaters.

 

ABdomega about to get the get the N2 any problem with the N1 in your max??? and how much wiring did u need for it???, I saw some kid NAVI but not that one, he had so much wiring I got shook cause i dont want that much wiring in my car....but finally got to see a pic of the max with that NAVI that want...LLooooking goood on the dash...
using my spring and strut $$$$ for that baby...
