My max burns eggs

When i stop after driving for about a half an hour, I can smell eggs/sulfer coming through the airvents. I can smell it when i get out of the car too. I dont think this is an uncommon problem with maximas. I just want to know what the problem is.

Yes, I would be inclined to agree that you need a new catalytic converter.

No, a y-pipe wouldn't fix the problem. You already have a y-pipe by the way. If its not the catalytic converter, it could be the dreaded foofoo valve problem.

good question, i am not sure, My car has a bout 75k miles on it. I have a y-pipe. I am thinking since nissan designed that Pre-Cat, when you add the Y-Pipe that shorten the life of your regular Stock Cat.
But then I am not a expert on that. MIne has not gone bad yet. But I am waiting to see..

i just got an RT cat in a deal when i got my catback but i just read a bunch of bad reviews about it in the FI forum. If it does die you think it would be a good idea to get a stock one again?

My max does the same thing. How much is a new cat? Maybe I should just get a Y-Pipe and full cat back...
