O2 Sensor Question

I got a CEL for my front right heated O2 sensor and drove on it for about a week because I couldn't get it to the shop. Now I am taking it tomorrow so I wanted to shut the light myself before they charge me $70 to clear the codes (something I can do myself). Now I am getting a 0707 for the Cat O2 sensor.

Heres my question...
Is the 0707 (Cat O2 code) just showing up from the bad front O2? I read that the cat O2 monitors only the cat when the front O2's are running properly. Since one of mine is not running properly I think this is why I am getting the second code. Need advice on whether or not you think I should change it (the cat O2).

Thanks.

-Steve

PS-Man MPG is horrendous with bad O2 sensor. I can just watch my gas gauge go down even when not driving hard.

i would just replace the 02 sensor first and see if that helps. i did the same thing, drive around after i got the code and then i started gettting all kinds of different codes. replaced the sensor only and no new codes.

i think i might still just change the cat O2 sensor. It cant hurt to put a new one on and Im sure a new one will work better than the original one. I need the most gas efficient/top tuned engine right now to help out with MPG since 93 oct. is up to about $2.50 a gallon. Man gas prices hurt right now and im sure they are going to get worse further into summer.

Do you seriously have these codes and still have this good of MPG? Should I be worrying about something else?

yes i do. usually though, with a bad o2 you will get terrible gas mileage so don't be alarmed that something else is wrong

any good places/sites to buy O2 sensors? Only place I know of is oxygensensors.com.
Btw, I would need 2 front sensors only and is NOT necessary to change the 3rd (after CAT) correct?

I thought I was going to need 1 but turns out the injector cleaner set off the code.

I can not remember exactly where but I did find a couple of sites that tell you how to check O2 sensor operation on the bench (out of the car).

WOW that MPG with bad 02 sensors is a freaking phenomonon! I want to hear what you get with good 02's.... 75 MPG?!!!!! You sure you dont own a Prius with a Maxima body. Thats awesome that you get such good MPG especially with those symptoms.

I know so far on this tank looks like i'll be touching 33-34 mpg, and trust me it's no prius, with the power i have after 3k there'd be no mistaking it
