Paradox System carbon fiber trunk lid

Okay...who got one from the group deal? Did you install it yet? Any tips you would like to share? I don't think the holes are pre drilled since mine is still in the box.

Paradox's website claims there is no custom work to be done, and installs directly as a factory does with OEM hardware .... should only take a short amount of time (less then an hour) I would assume, right?

Show us some pics after, curious to see how it looks. I may have to get some CF sidemirror covers since once has a crack, maybe a trunk to accent it... heh.

I was thinking the same thing.
My mirror covers that I got from Paradox have that milky/cloudy look to them as well. Its not too bad, but does annoy me at times.

I dont think I could deal with it on an item as big and as expensive as the trunk though.

The gelcoat looks fine too me. It's not a super glossy but it looks pretty close to my CF hood.

My C/F Lip was like that when I got it from ionic. I simply clayed it, cut it with #9, sealed with klasse AIO, and topped it with #26 and now it looks 20x better.

This isnt on the exterior. Its actually in the clear.
Ive tried to buff it out. When buffed, it does shine real nice, but the cloudiness is still there.
My lip from Ionic has an excellent shine.

Is it a gel coat or a clear coat? There is a difference. Exspecially when lots of sun is involved.

Just curious. Gel coat will not hold up to long summer heat and sun very well. I used to work for a place that sold fiberglass camper shells for pickups and the manufacturers stopped using gel coating because it didnt last at all in hot long summers.
