HELP! UDP install isnt going so great CAR NEEDED SOON

I installed my motostorm UDP today and I'm running into a problem. The pivot bolt for my power steering pump has fallen out and wont go back in. The bolt lines up and slides right it. It just wont catch any threads. I've been trying for hours and still no luck. Can anyone please help me. I know its late here on the east coast but anything will do. I've been working one this damn bolt since 6pm. I dont have another car and I have to work tomorrow morning. THanks

Just take a break, have a drink/bite to eat. Remember...its just a bolt. It cant beat you. You took it off, you CAN put it back on. Make sure you have adequete lighting and just shove that mother in there. Have self confidence....there's really not much we can do

all i can say is, get you an extra set of hands and be patient. I had to take that same bolt completely out because the pump wouldnt drop all the way down to get the belt off. Then the tensioner bolt bracket fell out....took about 2 hours to get it all abck together

dude Dave Sz and i had the EXACT same problem trying to install mine, this is the warning i wrote in the GD thread, to be very careful. i have NO idea how Xmax got it back in, but he did. you can try and PMing him but like i said, i have no idea how he got it in, and i know how frustrated you feel right now, Dave and I were going nuts, and all of a sudden Xmax comes a long and POP right back in. We ended up taking out the axle to get a better angle, and from there it was much easiar.

Yup you definantly ran into the same problem I did, but instead of it being an expected 4 hour install came into a 4 day ordeal. First, stripped the tensionor bolt that holds the tensionor pulley. After that everything when downhill from there (long story)......the worst part is when I stripped the thread on the axle, so that was an extra $70 bucks down the drain. Yes removing the axle helps a lot to put back the both bolts back in, but keep in mind, when taking out the axle use a skinny punch do not directly hammer out the axle if it sticks. YOU WILL STRIP THE THREAD!

I don't understand why you all are removing that pivot bolt. You don't need to remove it at all. Just loosen it enough for the power steering pump to be able to rotate. Simple.

In total, I was involved in 3 Motostorm pulley installs. The P/S pump's pivoting bolt doesn't have to be removed. One car I did was from up North (rusty @ss bottom), which made that pump almost imposible to bring down. All we did took a long breaker bar and used it as a big punch and hammered the pump down as the tention bolt was turned from underneath.

Look if you removed that pivoting bolt and its not lining up now, try moving the pump up and down. It might be that the hole isn't lined up for the bolt to go through. It might take some hammer-time since you guys are up north and I can safely assume you have rust issues making everything hard to do under the car.
