technosquare makes an ecu for 2001 but 2000?

technosquare makes an ecu for 2001 but 2000 max's?

what is the difference?
could I just swap in an 01 ecu and have that modded by technosquare...?
has anyone done this? do you get CEL's?
they don't tell me why they can do the 2001's but not the '00...like they don't want to tell me...all they say is the 2000 ecu's are not possible but the 2001's are...

ok so then is anyone goin to try it i saw in another thread that there is a concern for throwing a code or messing the EGR system up(what is a EGR). I was under the impression and it may be wrong that 2k and 2k1 were the same internals and engine so why does it have a different ECU and why wouldnt it fit??? SOrry new to the whole swapping parts concept so if this is a repeat of a past thread or post just send a link

yeah well that 99 ecu was done by swapping in the 96 roms...and then switching 2 wires around on the harness as well to prevent CEL's...

in either case I know the 2K and 2K1's are identical engines, I think the only difference would be the cali and fed specs...as long as you get the same spec...I would think there would be no problems...amomaxima...when you spoke to technosquare/Brian last he did mention they are currently working on the 2000 ecu?

The problem is that there are no Fedspec 01. SO most likely the 00fed's will get screwed. But I still think it will work w/o cel. Just hte EGR system will not work and that is not that big of a deal.

2001 ECU is flash ECU and 2000 ECU is not.
We are not sure if you can swap the ECU between these years.

Technosquare, Inc

This is the response from them and i think they are giving little info for a reason. But i am not sure what it is. WHAT is a flash ECU? Anyone using a AFCII? WHat result are you getting from it?

This tells me that they can rewrite the stock 01ecu. On the 95-96, they install a daughter board to edit the fuel/ignition maps. On these they just rewrite over the nissan program.

the 2000 ecu hardware skematics are more similar to the 4th gen maxima ecus. The 2001's benefit from similarities to the 02+ ecus because it was a transitional year.

the 4th gen ecus like what has been said utilizes a daughterboard that is soldered onto the existing ECU, whereas the newer ECUs feature electronic program "flashes" after the ECU code is broken.

so 01+ ecus: software upgrades
and 4th gen ecus: hardware upgrades

yeah but I know for the 2000 maxima's you can take the consult II and change parameters and preprogram stuff which suggests flashing...I even know when the mafs go out on 2K's (a common problem), they put in the 2K1 maf's and then have to flash the ecu's as called for in the TSB's...all of which I have had done to my cali spec 2K...which makes me think they are flashable...so who is that one guy who has apparently been driving around a 2K with a raised rev limiter (but no timing advance or upgraded fuel maps) from technosquare...?? or is that just a rumor?
