Rotating squeak coming from rear
Rotating squeak coming from rear
Hi all,
Lately I've noticed that at slow speeds and only when slowly speeding up, I'm getting a low-chirp/squeak sound that fades in and out coming from what sounds like one of the rear wheels. It sounds like it's something scraping against the rotor. It usually only happens after the car has been driven for a while (after it's warmed up).
Additionally, my brakes are squeaky yet the pads are nearly new (6months / 5k miles old) and in great condition.
Today I had my Tein Basic kit installed (which is excellent by the way!!), as well as relacing strut mounts, strut mount bearings, front sway bar links, and front ball joints. I was hoping that it was a suspension noise that one of these might knock out, but apparently not.
First, is there anything I can do about squeaky brakes?
Second, any ideas what this rotating noise might be? I've heard the caliper might be too tight. The rotors are in fairly good condition.
Thanks!

you can try to engauge the parking brake slightly 1 or 2 clicks while moving to see if the noise changes or goes away. If it does then it's probley brake related. As far as squeaking did you cut the rear rotors when you replaced the pads? The rotors may be glazed. But most brake noise is caused by brake material or cheap brakes or even the wrong type of material used to make the brakes. Some manufactors recommend organic some semi metallic or ceramic etc...
