i hate altezzas....for the most part...ESPECIALLY on a max

 

those are pretty sweet, but the more i look at what my red/clears look like at night, the more i like em.

Have you ever tailed a car with those altezzas??? Horrible lighting!!! You could barely notice when the brake lights come on because only a small portion of the round outter lamp lights up. If you don't know what I'm talking about, look for a car with one the next time you are driving around the city.

what is the defenition of a Ricer?? Because to me it is someone who mods his car to looked better and gain better performence....
don't we all fit in those fields? arn't we buying rims that are bigger than stock, getting performence parts because we need more power? a rice machine is when a car has an airplane wing that doesn;t make any difference on his normal driving, and has a loud exhaust that doesn't make him go any faster , drive around with neon lights all these grab people attention which is why they put it on in the first place.\
so you can say they are showoffs of what?? i dunno their ghetto bucket, but to me it lead to the same thing we fixed up are maxima to stand out ...... Are we showing off? i thought i wasn't showing off but satisfying my self, but then i kept buying more and more.

i have bought 18s rims white, white racing seats, stereo, and recently those lights , and the clear bumper lights. yet i still want to do some more modds, does that make me an ricer? yet does that make you u a ricer? or are we muscle car wannabe lol

I disagree. Mine looks brighter than stock when the brake is applied so I don't know where your comming from. Plus, most people have factory spoilers with LED brake light or simply a 3rd brake light so it's kinda hard not to see the brakes applied... And from a far distance I really like the 4 circular lights look, although if I didn't have these altezzas yet, I would've gotten the LED ones.

Anyways, yea those black housing altezza looks much better than chrome or my cf ones. Post some pictures when you get it, I'd be interested to see cause I'm going to paint mine black soon.

 

if u get the paintable lights from TYC they are easier to paint and really give you that Skyline back end

 

just get the carbon fiber tail lights thats wut i have and i have a blk max. it looks amazing

 

to each their own but i am starting to lean towards the red clears for my next exterior modd unless i do the 97 trunk conversion then i'll get the gen two's

It is hard to see them during the day especially. How could you tell that yours look brighter when you are in the car driving it? In addition, Altezzas cheapens the Maxima. Second gen Altezzas are a whole different thing though.

 

I think those look okay, the led ones look good, but altezzas only look good if the housing is painted the same color as the car. Like the ones in the link look okay on a black car only.

 

my thoughts........personally i dont liek altezzas but thats me....but if u lke them get them jsut dont get a 3ft wing and ur fine or a stupid catfish looking body kit.....as far as skyline tails go..sure they are similar but skyline had LEDs for their circles and the turn signal was yellow so in my eyes they are nothing like skylines they look like Impalas......i would try retro fitting r33 tails if i really wanted skyline tails

 

If you prefer altezzas, at least get the ones with the LEDS.

Not true.... I've done an R34 taillight conversion to an I30(Royal_T) and it uses light bulbs just like anything else, the only difference is the bulbs are placed around the circle taillight!!!!!!!

 

They look decent when I close my eyes. Other than that, I will keep my Red/Clear LED tails all day.

this it probably true that a ricer will mod their car to lookd better or look faster and such, but is not any faster. like that boost blow off valve thing that goes in your exhaust tip? that is total rice! sounds fast, but isn't. same with the giant adjustable CF wings on a FWD civic? or any FWD car for that matter. not necessary and doesn't help performance or handling. so, no. i wouldn't call us all ricers. some are, some aren't. they just do what they want. ricers just get a bad rep for being wannabees, or fake. but as long as you do what you want to your car, fine by me.

 

"altezzas suck, white/clears are cool" is the MOST overused saying in the org, BY FAR!!! why must we start more altezza threads? it just pisses ppl like me off, and gives an oppurtunity to every1 to tell us how much altezzas suck. enough is enough, some like em, most dont, lets leave it at that.

 

carbon fiber altezas probably would look sick if you had a carbon fiber trunk

 

for real that will look awsome.

i like the gen2 altezza better

 

With some modification I think altezzazs would look sweet. But just regular altezzas on the max look horrible in my opinion.
