Bored vg30?

Alright, graduation is coming up and so are the large amounts of cash for me. I was looking to buy a vg30et, but why not take the money and put pistons in my vg30e? If I go turbo, I want to go big. I'm looking for 350 hp and 13 mpg. Will a vg30e bored to 3.3 be able to handle large amounts of boost? I want internals that can hold 600 hp reliably. I would probably try to find a RWD car if I get it over 400. Any ideas?

u wont be abel to bore it out to a 3.3 it will only go to 3.1.
but know if u go get a pathfinder/xtera vg33e you'll be better of and u can bore that out to a 3.4 and increse cr from 8.1 10 like 10.1 with q35 v8 pistons.

sell your car, combine money from graduation and car to purchase a faster car. Not only will you have instant gratification, but you'll have the knowledge that the engine works with whats in there.

simple mods are ok if you want to toss money away... but replacing the motor, I hardly see any benefit

I think you need to post a bit less and research a whole lot more. This is about as kind as I can possibly be.

Woa, kid! Something like that would cost a rediculous amount of money and would be more trouble than it is worth. If you want big power I suggest a Z car if you want to stay Nismo, a WRX if you can afford it, or a V-8 F-body if u want big cubes and rwd.

....I decided to stay away from major engine mods when i realized the trannies don't hold up to anything for long term. Z-car is where it's at. SO many more options, and just a sexy car.

What about the supposed 3.5 block swap? Or do I have my motors switched here?

Sudden intake of alcohol after a 8 month dry spell does screw with your memory.

somebody on here claims to have done the VG33E swap successfully. i can't remember who he is. but my impression is that he told me it was a lot of work on the motor mounts...

this might be a little off topic, but http://members.tripod.com/~grannys/2N6VG30.html these guys here are putting VG POWAH in their FC RX-7..
look what they would go through to get a bit of VG Powah while all of us here take it for granted..

Which is a total waste of time IMHO. There are about 10 different engines I'd rather put into a 1st/2nd/3rd gen RX7 than a sohc VG

If you want to have reliable power that you don't have to work any bugs out of, get a rwd v8. There is no replacement for displacement . With that said, if you only want 350hp, dont bother with internals. The stock stuff can handle that well enough. You would need probably ~15 psi of boost before you have to start considering rods, pistons, etc. Even then though, you would probably be alright. As others have said, building the VG motor is a waste, since it gets really really expensive to make massive power N/A, and after its all said and done, you are still FWD. With 3K, you can have a nice turbo setup on your car, and make anywhere from 250-300whp. I guess in short, dont bother building a setup to make crazy power unless you have the cash and time to spend (at least $5K).
